HypeDrop Review

HypeDrop offers three free mystery boxes and a 5% first deposit bonus when you use the promo code “HypeDrop” at sign-up. This mystery box platform is accessible in all 50 US states, but players in Washington may be excluded from certain services.

After you’ve made your first deposit here, you can take part in raffles, weekly races, free daily drops for VIP members, an affiliate bonus that awards up to 10% commission, giveaways on social media, and non-stop battles.

Like Bigbux, HypeDrop features mystery boxes that may contain random items and “Deals” that let you spin the wheel and set your own probabilities of winning the items you want. The promos here are a huge selling point compared to other brands I’ve tried.

I’ll explain how HypeDrop works, teach you how to use the site, and test purchases/redemptions so you’ll know whether it’s the right choice for you.

The HypeDrop first deposit bonus is closely tied to the no deposit bonus, since you’ll need to use the same promo code for both. After you’ve entered the code and opened your free boxes, you’ll have exactly 1 hour to fund your account and earn a 5% bonus.

You only have to spend a minimum of $5 here, compared to $10 at BigBux, but BigBux offers a larger 20% boost on your initial deposit up to $100. HypeDrop also has a $100 maximum for the deposit bonus.

The entire process took me about 30 seconds, but you have to know where to look if you want a chance to open your mystery boxes. That’s why I created this guide to help beginners earn gifts:

Step 1: Sign up for a new account

Open HypeDrop’s website and click “Register” at the top-right corner of the page.

Step 2: Enter account details

You can sign up using an existing Steam account, Google account, or email address. I chose to register with my email for brevity’s sake.

Enter your email address, create a new password, and check the first box to receive optional email promotions. Check the second box to verify you’re over the age of 18 and agree to the HypeDrop Terms of Service. Click “Submit” to proceed.

Open your inbox and look for a new email from HypeDrop. Click “Verify” to confirm your email. You’ll be sent back to the HypeDrop homepage, where you can enter your promo code for free.

Step 3: Enter promo code

Click “Free Drop” next to “Raffle” and enter the promo code “HypeDrop” in the appropriate field. Select “Apply.” This is how you’ll receive your gift boxes.

Select “Open Your Box” and wait for the wheel to land on a specific item. Repeat this action twice more to open the other two boxes you received. I personally got three vouchers worth $0.25, $0.02, and $0.01.

Once you’re finished, click the plus sign next to your cash balance. You’ll only have 1 hour to claim the site’s 5% first-deposit bonus after you enter your promo code. Choose a payment method from the next page and fund your account with $5 to $100 to qualify for your bonus.

After you click “Deposit,” you’ll see cash appear in your balance with that 5% bonus applied.

You’ll only have a 0.000001% chance of winning items worth $4,500 or more, but the bonuses at Royale.gg and Bigbux contain items worth $60 to $750 at most. So long as you’re okay with lottery-esque odds, HypeDrop’s free bonus has more potential than any other mystery box site.”

One thing I noticed is that your free boxes at Bigbux are worth less, but they offer a higher chance of winning high-ticket items (0.0001% compared to 0.000001%).

Essentially, you’re 100x more likely to take home a PS5 or Nintendo Switch at BigBux compared to winning a fancy watch or Louis Vuitton bag at HypeDrop. Royale.gg offers the same 0.0001% odds of winning a $60 Supreme water soaker.

If you’re not happy with your item, you can request a cryptocurrency withdrawal so long as the total value is $15 or more. All crypto payouts are subject to a 2% processing fee.

How to request items be shipped to your address:

1. Open your “Cart” from the top banner.
2. Click on the item you want to receive.
3. Select “Deliver” and enter your shipping address if you haven’t done so already.
4. If shipping fees are required, pay the fees and wait for a tracking number.
5. Items will reach your doorstep in 2 - 30 days, depending on your location.

Physical items reach your doorstep within 30 days of shipment, excluding delays outside HypeDrop’s control.

How to request a crypto withdrawal:

1. Open your “Cart” from the top banner.
2. Select the item you want to redeem for crypto.
3. Make sure the item’s value is at least $15.
4. Click “Withdraw” and choose your preferred form of crypto.
5. Enter your crypto wallet address and confirm the transaction.
6. Funds will be sent to your crypto wallet immediately.

How to exchange items for other items:

1. Open your “Cart” from the top banner.
2. Select the item you want to exchange for another item.
3. View the options available for your exchange.
4. You can also combine two or more items to exchange them for a single item of equivalent value.
5. New items will immediately reflect in your Cart, where you can ship them out or redeem them for crypto prizes.

Before you take part in Discord giveaways, you will need to complete Level 2 of identity verification by uploading a photocopy of your ID. Full verification is also required before you can request prizes or have items shipped to your doorstep.

HypeDrop centers on mystery-box purchases, Deals and player-versus-player battles rather than a conventional casino game lobby. You can open boxes for items such as electronics, clothing and gift cards, choose your chances of winning an item through Deals, or compete in solo and team battles. Here’s how those purchases and battle formats work.

What kinds of purchases can you make at HypeDrop?

In addition to all the mystery boxes you’d expect (including electronics, trading cards, gaming accessories, designer clothing, gift cards, jewelry, watches, and vouchers), HypeDrop has some pretty unconventional boxes on display.

I call it the Amazon of mystery-box sites because I haven’t seen such variety anywhere else.

The best boxes I found included Magic: The Gathering accessories, Labubu figurines, free food coupons from Burger King/McDonald’s, grocery essentials from CVS and 7-Eleven, and Korean skincare products, to name a few.

If you’d rather win items, you can set your own probability and spin the Wheel to win anything from a low-grade voucher or divorce agreement form to a $7 million Lamborghini Fenomeno Roadster or $2.7 million Audemars Piguet watch. The possibilities are quite literally endless.

You set the probability slider from 0.01% to 80% and pay a certain price based on your chosen chances. If the ticker lands within the highlighted portion of the wheel, you win the item.

Battles

Active players can join non-stop battles for a set price. If your account is empty, you’ll still be able to watch battles in real time. Solo battles pit you against 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 players, while team battles are 2v2, 2v2v2, or 3v3.

If there aren’t enough players to fill the battle you created or entered, a bot will sub in. Normal battles determine the final winner(s) based on the total value of your unboxed items, while jackpot battles operate a bit differently.

The more value you (or your team) unbox, the more likely you are to earn a final prize, which is spun at the end of the battle.

“Last Box Jackpot” mode is much the same, but your chances of winning improve if you unbox the highest-value item during your last round. In “Clutch” mode, the player or team who pulls the highest-value item during a round wins the entire battle.

“Point Rush” mode awards points for each round you or your team win, and the player or team with the most points wins the battle. “Terminal” mode focuses on the last box, as the player who pulls the highest-value item at the end of the round wins the whole battle.

“Crazy” mode reverses the rules by awarding a final win to players or teams who unbox the lowest item value in all other modes. Finally, if you don’t have enough money to enter a battle, you can borrow a set percentage of the price and keep the same percentage of your winnings if luck goes your way.

Black Market

HypeDrop’s “Black Market” turns your next luxury item into a negotiation. Instead of opening mystery boxes, you’ll enter the amount of money you want to spend and click “Start Dealing.” You’ll then receive a sequence of offers that you can accept or reject in search of something better.

However, continuing to negotiate increases the likelihood that you’ll end up with a less valuable item as time goes on. Much like Deal or No Deal, the Black Market tests your risk tolerance with no takebacks if you reject a potentially excellent reward.

HypeDrop offers plenty of ways to pay. It also comes with a $1 minimum deposit if you purchase a gift card through G2A or Kinguin, but you must deposit at least $5 to qualify for a bonus with your promo code.

Each cryptocurrency has specific deposit minimums that apply after gas fees, so you’ll need to spend a little more to ensure your transaction isn’t lost. Finally, as long as your item(s) are worth at least $15, you can request an immediate crypto withdrawal to your personal wallet.

How to deposit money and buy mystery boxes or deals

1. Click the plus button next to your cash balance.
2. Choose a payment method from the following screen.
3. Enter the amount of money you want to deposit.
4. Click “Deposit” to finalize your transaction.
5. Go back to the homepage and browse featured boxes. Otherwise, open “Deals” from the main menu.
6. Use the money you just deposited to purchase boxes or spin the Deal wheel.
7. Any items you receive will appear in your “Cart.”

The HypeDrop no deposit bonus is pretty awesome, but you shouldn’t expect to receive much more than a few vouchers.

HypeDrop login bonus and promos for existing players

You can claim free daily boxes at HypeDrop, but you’ll have to reach Level 2 or higher to unlock them. As a new player, there’s no way to collect rewards on this scale. However, I had fun taking part in battles, raffles, giveaways, and races until I earned enough XP to climb the ladder.

Raffles/Bolt Shop

HypeDrop hosts daily, weekly, and monthly raffles that you can enter to win a Gucci bucket hat, gaming laptop, smartphone, Louis Vuitton wallet, MacBook Air, and other high-ticket items.

If you enter more than one ticket into each raffle, your chances of winning improve. For example, the first-place winner for one Weekly Raffle added 6,300 tickets to the pool. If you want to earn Tickets, you’ll have to spend money and earn Bolts.

Whenever you spend $20, you’ll get one Bolt. Every time you spend one Bolt in the Bolt Shop to open summer boxes, you’ll collect one Ticket.

The least expensive box here costs two Bolts, so you’ll have to spend at least $40 to participate in raffles. On the bright side, you can still earn items by opening the boxes you purchased with Bolts.

Weekly Race

If you want to participate in weekly races, all you have to do is purchase boxes. Players who unbox the largest total item value each week rank on the Weekly Race leaderboard.

If you come in 16th - 25th place, you’ll win $125. If you come in 13th - 15th place, you’ll get $250. Placing 11th or 12th earns you $500, while placing 9th or 10th earns you $750.

At the top of the food chain, first-, second-, and third-place participants receive $7,500, $3,750, and $2,500, respectively.

Affiliate program

Invite players to join HypeDrop with your special referral code. They’ll earn 3 free boxes and a 5% bonus on all their cash top-ups. You’ll get 1% of their playing commission once you successfully refer three people.

The affiliate program at HypeDrop has 10 tiers, each offering a commission between 2% and 10% on every deposit your friend makes. New tiers will unlock once you’ve earned a certain amount of commission and invited a certain number of people.

One of the best features of the referral bonus is that you can request small loans of up to $800 for on-site purchases. You’ll pay loans back with your affiliate earnings.

Social media giveaways

Join the HypeDrop Discord server to participate in multiple weekly giveaways. You’ll first need to link your Discord account by opening your “Profile” from the main menu, completing identity verification, and clicking “Connect to Discord.”

From here, open the “Giveaways” channel and click “Participate” under any ongoing event for a chance to win $25 in HypeDrop credits. Two players can win at random during each giveaway.

From time to time, giveaways will also take place on Instagram and Twitter (X). These events are less frequent, but they can deliver between $100 - $300 in prizes if you catch the right one.

Mobile app and experience

The HypeDrop web app promises fast loading times and one-click mobile access in lieu of a downloadable iOS/Android app. Compared to the desktop interface, which can be a little bit overwhelming in my opinion, the mobile site offers simplified unboxings, menus, and promos.

Ongoing promotions are neatly advertised in the top-row banners, while the global chat and deposit/withdrawal tabs are outlined next to the HypeDrop logo. This logo also serves as a “home button,” taking you back to the homepage from anywhere on the site.

How to contact customer support

HypeDrop offers 24/7 live chat, email, and ticket support. Even though traditional support isn’t available on Discord, it’s still a great, free resource for speaking with other players. So long as you’ve deposited $50+, you can also post in the global chat for answers.

• Live chat: Open the main menu and select “Live Support” to get connected with a real person in 30 to 60 seconds. You can also choose among the listed chat topics for more detailed assistance.
• Email: Send an email to support@hypedrop.com. It usually takes 24 hours to get an initial response, but I received follow-up replies in 6 - 12 hours on average.
• Ticket: Scroll down to the site footer and click “Contact Us” to open the ticket form. Enter your email address and message, then click “Submit.” Reply speeds are about the same for ticket or email inquiries, but sending a ticket includes your account details by default.
• FAQ: Scroll down to the site footer and click “FAQ.” It contains general information on item exchanges, shipping, returns, payments, battles, and other important topics (such as the site’s refund policy and how to view product odds for different mystery boxes).

HypeDrop has thousands of positive reviews on Trustpilot, and it’s not hard to see why. The Amazon of mystery box sites goes hard in the paint with an endless catalog of items available through mystery boxes/Deals, generous raffles, battles that promise even more customizability than Royale.gg, and Weekly Races that incentivize high-value purchases with massive prizes.

Even the VIP program, while somewhat secretive, tells me enough about HypeDrop to know it’s one of the best sites out there. You won’t find totally free hourly, daily, weekly, or monthly boxes anywhere else. The only flaw I see is that you’re limited to requesting crypto prizes, rather than cash payouts as I was able to do at BigBux.
