VGW launched LuckyLand Casino on Wednesday, making it the company’s fourth active social casino alongside Chumba Casino, LuckyLand Slots, and Global Poker.
The new platform focuses on table games and social live casino experiences, including blackjack, baccarat, and roulette, according to a media release. VGW also said the site will feature slot games and exclusive content from its in-house studios.
“LuckyLand Casino is a new brand built around adventure, innovation and pure fun – and it’s exciting to be getting this to players after much work from many teams,” VGW founder and CEO Laurence Escalante said in the release.
Social live casino appears to be the focus
The media release said the platform includes social live casino experiences, table games like blackjack, baccarat and roulette, and slot games with exclusive content from VGW’s in-house studios.
VGW said social live casino “will not only be available for slots games, but many others as part of the diverse social games experience.”
VGW now operates Chumba Casino, LuckyLand Slots, and Global Poker, with United Slots planned for the first quarter of 2026.
The launch raises questions about LuckyLand Slots, VGW’s older slots-focused platform acquired and launched in 2018. Sweepsy reported earlier this month that VGW is “considering its options” for LuckyLand Slots but hasn’t made final decisions.
“LuckyLand Casino refreshes VGW’s portfolio with an entirely new, cutting-edge brand and operation that delivers all the LuckyLand fun but with a name that reflects an enhanced, broader experience for players seeking a wide range of free-to-play games and features, including social live casino and additional exclusive content,” a VGW spokesperson told us back in November.
VGW emphasizes responsible gaming program
The media release emphasized VGW’s player protection measures, describing the platform as delivering “a responsible and positive player experience” with “best-in-class consumer protections.”
VGW employs nearly 30 people dedicated to responsible gaming, including outreach specialists with social work backgrounds. In an October interview with Sweepsy, Dwight Ramenaden, VGW’s head of responsible social gameplay, said the company’s program “would stand heads up to anyone in the industry, both social and real-money.”
The company’s responsible gaming tools include non-revocable self-exclusion periods, gameplay affordability checks based on estimated income by zip code, and a customer risk score system.
Launch comes as VGW adjusts to regulatory pressure
VGW is launching LuckyLand Casino at a time when the company has had to adapt its operations across multiple states.
Regulators in Louisiana, New York, Mississippi, New Jersey, West Virginia, and Tennessee have targeted the company’s sweepstakes operations this year through cease-and-desist letters or new legislation.
VGW’s response has been to discontinue Sweeps Coin redemptions in those states while maintaining Gold Coin play — the free-to-play social casino games that don’t involve cash prizes. Other operators have more commonly chosen to pull out of restricted states entirely.
The company also moved to 21-plus age verification earlier this year. Not many operators made the same change, and some that initially did have since reversed course back to 18-plus.
The launch of a new platform suggests VGW has maintained revenue despite the restrictions.
